editorial shoot

Solo Leaf Left.png

I can vividly remember walking into the Rose Room at Sanctuary Gardens and falling completely head over heels with the white washed wood, cathedral windows and statement chandelier. This space was a breath of fresh air and instantly inspired an editorial that would take on a very European feel.

The starting point – a classic colour palette of white, grey and gold. Designing the table scape was all about layering. The natural linen from White Event Studio set the tone. Details included a grey silk runner, marbled charger plates, gold plated flatware and pews adorned with delicate greenery. The arrangements from A New Leaf Floral took it to a whole other level – ethereal, relaxed and the perfect pop of gold. A setting that is intended to stand the test of time, as does European architecture.

The bride wore the most beautiful gown consisting of a high collar and cap sleeves, with lace detailing and an illusion neckline. Top it off with a cathedral length veil and it was perfection. Her bouquet was wrapped in the most beautiful antique brocade and silk velvet ribbon that was purchased at a Paris flea market, as if it were meant to be. The cake was one of my absolute favourite pieces. Marbled fondant with 24k edible gold leaf, atop a vintage cake stand and beneath a floral wreath, it was all kinds of yes. Sugar Sweet Cake Company nailed it.

I could go on and on about this gorgeous shoot and the incredible vendors because every single detail was designed with intention and love. To read more, check out our feature on Magnolia Rouge!
