autumn inspired

After their first visit to the Okanagan, Sara and Geoff fell in love with the beauty of the valley. Specifically, in the fall. They chose Thanksgiving weekend for their wedding, as they couldn't imagine any date more fitting - one centred around love and gratitude. Their wedding day was spent with 30 of their closest friends and family, with a ceremony at sunset, followed by a candle lit dinner. Throughout the design process, the season remained at the forefront of all our decisions.

Due to the uncertainty of weather, they opted for an indoor ceremony and reception. However, I wanted to bring the outside in. For that reason, we curated a tree as the ceremony backdrop - one that highlighted the beauty of autumn. Comprised of curly willow branches, and leaves foraged from outside my home, we were able to replicate the beauty of the outdoors, inside.

Sara and Geoff knew that conversation and food was most important to their guest experience. Low wooden centrepieces helped to add depth and interest to the table, without obstructing anyone's view. Hand calligraphed menu and place cards from the bride added elegance, and candles created the perfect amount of romance. Fruit from the farmers market was a surprise design element, and one that the bride adored. Last but not least, the most incredible and luxe ivory lace linen was the perfect backdrop to this tablescape. The memories created around this table will be forever cherished.
